Gun Nose / Spiral Point Taps

Engineered for fast, efficient production tapping of through holes, Gun Nose Taps —also known as Spiral Point Taps—combine excellent cutting performance, strength and long tool life.

Unlike standard straight flute taps, the spiral point design features an angled cutting face at the lead threads that drives chips forward and away from the cutting action. This reduces chip congestion and allows the tap to cut cleanly and continuously through the workpiece.

Manufactured from M35 High Speed Steel with 5% cobalt and finished with a TiCN wear-resistant coating, these taps are built to withstand demanding machining applications while maintaining excellent cutting performance. Precision-ground threads provide consistent, accurate thread forms, making them an excellent choice for repetitive and production tapping.
