The HAFCO Woodmaster M-16 Chisel Morticer (order code: W347) is a dedicated woodworkingmachine for cutting holes in pieces of timber for joinery projects.

The 370W (1/2Hp), 240V motor is capable of a 1400rpm spindle speed and won’t bog down, even when working with dense hardwood. As a safety measure, this model is fitted with a magnetic switch with emergency stop.

Heavy cast iron construction sees this morticer tip the scales at 46kg. A gas strut provides counterbalance to the weight of the head and motor.

Woodmaster M-16 by HAFCO features a 120mm vertical head stroke and 165mm lateral stroke, with a timber width capacity of 125mm. Its quick-action hand wheel material clamp lets the operator position their work-piece exactly where the mortise needs to be.

The worktable travels easily left and right, and forward and backward, on dovetail slideways. It’s capable of 160 x 46mm movement to manoeuvre and control the work-piece accurately in small increments when boring precise mortises. This is a particularly handy feature when performing multiple mortise cuts, like on table legs.

Tucked away inside its housing, the drill chuck has a 1-13mm capacity. With the facility for a 16mm chisel, this HAFCO morticer comes with a chisel (3/8" x 19mm shank) included upon purchase.

A mortice length stop as well as depth stop guide (76mm maximum) is provided to limit both vertical and horizontal movements of the chisel for repeat work.
